0229 Lower Fold, Marple Bridge

The proposed dwelling is designed as a single storey volume that partially cantilevers over the steeply sloping site. The design solution is wholly informed by the challenges of the site gradient, site access limitations, buildability constraints and client budget.

The house is arranged with the primary living areas orientated to take advantage of the stunning views across the Goyt Valley to the west. To the east, the bedrooms are concealed behind a more closed façade that provides privacy from the road.

A contemporary materials palette is selected to minimise wet trades on site and facilitate a reduced construction programme. The roof form echoes the pitched roof scape of the surrounding area, whilst offering striking interior spaces.
