0226 Cheadle Extension and refurbishment

Extensive refurbishment and extension of an existing dwelling located in the South Manchester suburb of Cheadle.

The project involves partial demolition, refurbishment and extension of the existing house to provide a modern family home.

The rear of the house is completely re-imagined internally and externally with the addition of a two storey contemporary rear and side extension. The extension serves to open up the house to the garden and provide large, open-plan kitchen/dining/family spaces on the ground floor, with additional bedroom space on the first floor.

A contemporary materials palette is sympathetic to the existing building, and includes a buff-multi brick and bronze cladding on the extension. Off-white render with dark-grey aluminium windows are proposed to refurbish the existing building fabric.
