0206 – Private House, Aughton

The house is a large (7,700ft²), new build house situated in the Granville Park Conservation Area in Aughton.  The new house replaces an existing single storey bungalow on the site which was poorly positioned, resulting in largely unusable gardens despite the generous corner plot. 

We took the opportunity to replace a house of ‘neutral’ quality with a well-considered, new-build detached dwelling of high design quality, all completed whilst maintaining the characteristic openness of the Conservation Area and the street scene.

The house was put forward for the West Lancs Design Awards in 2016 by the Conservation Officer himself, and we were proud to win a Commendation Award.
