Extensive transformation, refurbishment and extension of an existing 1960’s house in the Green Belt at Hawkshaw, near Ramsbottom.
The external appearance and internal layout of the original house were completely re-worked and reimagined to provide a contemporary family home. The new extension provides a significant volume addition beyond that normally permissible in Green Belt, and is designed to take advantage of the stunning open views towards Holcolme Moor.
The scheme also included design of a contemporary garden outbuilding clad in timber shingles. The building form and orientation was specifically designed to provide a habitat for the native bat colonies on site.
The project received planning permission September 2013 and was completed on site in 2016.
