0182 Red Walls

Red Walls is a luxury, new build, contemporary detached house located in the Legh Road Conservation Area of Knutsford.

The project is unashamedly modern in overall form and aesthetic, whilst responding sensitively to the immediate site context in terms of scale, materials, massing and detailed design. Set within a Conservation Area, the new dwelling is designed to nestle into the existing street scene.

The careful siting of the new building does not compromise the spaciousness of the plot. The plan has evolved to ensure that the primary living spaces benefit from the garden to three sides and have a connection with the south facing front garden.  The accommodation is set over three floors with an attached garage and lower ground floor swimming pool.

Red Walls won ‘Best Unbuilt Residential Project’ at the Manchester Society of Architects 2014 Design Awards.  The scheme received planning permission in August 2014 and was completed on site in Spring 2017.
